Data collection project ESVAC-ES
ESVAC is a project at European level for the collection and evaluation of data on the sale and use of veterinary medicines containing in their composition antimicrobial agents as an active ingredient. In Spain, the ESVAC project is included in the “Plan to fight against resistance to antibiotics”.
The ESVAC project responds to the legal requirements of the European Regulation 2019/6 on veterinary medicines.
The ESVAC Project is organized into three activities:
- The collection and validation of data.
- The analysis and evaluation of the data.
- The communication of the results obtained to the EMA from the analysis of the data.
The data will be provided on an annual basis and referred to the previous year.
Who and what has to be declared?
- Pharmaceutical laboratories must declare the estimated sales (outflows) by species.
- The detailing entities, livestock entities and pharmacies must declare:
- The dispensations (sales) of antimicrobial medicinal products intended for food-producing and non-food-producing animals made to the final consumer, livestock farmer, veterinary clinic, veterinarian, integrators and feed factories, including the veterinary medicine cabinet.
Sales and dispensations must be declared stratified by species.
Purchases (entries), sales intended for redistribution or activities on a wholesale basis will not be declared.
